Federal judge upholds $48 million award for Pomona in water pollution case
A federal court judge last week rejected an appeal by a foreign corporation found liable for contaminating the city of Pomona’s groundwater with a toxic chemical in a ruling handed down by a jury in September 2021. U.S. District Court Judge R. Gary Klausner ruled the $48 million in damages awarded by a jury were not excessive and should be paid.
